Want to be a make-up artist?

Running make-up courses in Sussex and London.

So much time and work has gone into building the new website that I haven't had time to do anything else!

The thing with building websites is that it is really difficult to get across what I really want to say - I want to put all my passion and excitement into my website, I want to shout from the roof tops, hills and mountains how amazing the Sussex Make-up Academy is and how much I believe in it and I hope this has come across on the site without giving you too much to read!

Firstly I want to say that we have tried our best to offer as many professional courses as we possibly could to offer everyone wanting to become a make-up artist the biggest opportunity to have a successful career.

Second, I want to say that Nicola and I really care about your career - We know that you are investing in a career and we will help and support you in every way that we can, from providing hands on work experience and shadow work to helping you learn how to network and create jobs for yourself.  We aim to physically help you and will be there for emotional support too.   Making you a successful make-up artist comes hand in hand with making ours a successful make-up school.  Surely this is a win-win situation?

So, what do we have to offer? - 15 unique professional make-up courses enabling you to have a varied make-up career, Starting off with our Foundation in Make-up and Fair course which starts on January 7th 2016

Specialist tutor's who are working within the industry enabling you to learn as many skills from different people as possible.  These tutor's are invaluable to you and your career and will teach you not only their skills but how to have a successful career in this industry.

There is so much more that I would like to write about the Sussex Make-up Academy  but don't want to bombard you with too much information in one go.

Please check out our website and get in touch if you have any questions.

Looking forward to bombarding you with more information soon :-)

British Heart Foundation Wear It Beat It Campaign

It was really great to be the hair and make-up artist for the new British Heart Foundation campaign - Wear It. Beat It 2017 -  https://wearitbeatit.bhf.org.uk This was a two day photoshoot working with a wonderful team from  Killer Creative  marketing agency. On the first day I worked with heart survivor's, consultants and surgeons which was great as I got to listen to a lot of amazing stories that people were happy to share.  In fact, this is one of the favourite parts of my work - getting to hear about other people's lives and the fact that people want share with me. On the second day, a lot of male, female and children models arrived to have their hair and make-up done so that the British Heart Foundation had a variety of photos to share for their next big advertising campaign. I really enjoyed being a member of the team that created photos for this campaign for the British Heart Foundation and look ...

How to cover up a tattoo using Camouflage creams

As a cosmetic camouflage practitioner I get asked to cover up scars, burn marks, port wine stains, birth marks, broken capillaries, Rosacea, eczema and all other skin conditions and discolourations.  When I am doing a wedding, I often get asked to cover up a tattoo or two! Below I will outline how you can cover up your own tattoo using Cosmetic camouflage creams. There are many creams available on the market, my product of choice is Dermacolor by Kryolan - this is endorsed by many companies including British Association of British Camouflage and Skin Camouflage Network.  Some of the products are also available on Prescription if your doctor gives you a prescription for the product - otherwise you can buy it direct from Charles H Fox.  1. - tattoo before any cosmetic camouflage creams have been applied. 2. If the tattoo is black, you need to apply a red colour on top of the black to neutralise the colour - I apply the product using a lip brush or liner brush....

How to choose a photographer for your wedding day - Introducing Marianne Chua

ABOUT YOU........ What is your background? I’m Marianne, I’m a young (in my head) photographer who specialises in weddings but who occasionally ganders with music photography as well. I’m self-taught through the school of Google, so essentially I learnt everything I know from online resources and trial and erroring during my film photography hobby days… then one day a friend asked me to photograph their wedding so I picked up a digital camera and haven’t stopped since! I still own 16 film cameras and will be using some of them at the weddings. ABOUT YOUR COMPANY Tell me a bit about your company and what you have to offer to the wedding industry. I’m a wedding photographer offering a fun, relaxed, alternative documentary style of photography! I’m based in London but I adventure all over to shoot weddings. I offer a more modern and quirky service, I think the kind of clients that book me want someone friendly who can blend into their day and be a part of it ra...
