Wedding at The Shelleys Hotel in Lewes

And the bride wore Superwoman trainers! On the outside, Shelleys doesn't look that big a place, but don't judge a book by its cover! I was booked on the 31st January to do hair, make up and nails for Maria's Wedding day.  She was staying at the Shelleys hotel the night before, which is always a bonus for me as I can arrive any time I want knowing that the bride will already be there. It doesn't take me long to rearrange the room so that I can set up.... Nails first Make up set up at the lovely dressing table. One of the reasons why I enjoy being a part of someones wedding day is that I get to be a little bit nosey! - A close up of Maria's Tiara Maria isn't really a 'bouquet' type of person so she had these lovely wrist corsages made for her And then she pulled our her Wonder woman pumps! I love how brides are sourcing alternative shoes for their wedding day.  And these wonder woman pumps are comfortable as well as be...

Music video for Malumi Official - Sara Rose and Klaire de Lys

My mother said, I never should, Play with the gipsies in the wood. If I did the she would say: 'Naughty girl to disobey!' 'Your hair shan't curl and your shoes shan't shine, You gipsy girl you shan't be mine.' And my father said that if I did, He'd rap my head with the tea-pot lid. My mother said, I never should, Play with the gipsies in the wood. The wood was dark, the grass was green, By came Sally with a tambourine. I went to sea - no ship to get across, I paid ten shillings for a blind white horse. I upped on his back and was off in a crack. 'Sally, tell my mother I shall never come back!' I read this poem since  a little girl and it was the first thing that came in to my head when I was approached by Malumi to create the hair for their next music video, 'Lullaby' - out soon. I was told to think fairies, enchanted woods, hobbit caves, a mid summers night dream.  And I was asked to c...

Amberley Castle - A wedding photo shoot

One of the biggest problems I have when it comes to my wedding hair and make up website is the content of high res photos - I do take photos of the bride on the day (using my phone camera) but I would love to have professional photos sent to me either by the photographer or the bride once she has them - This is not always possible, even though I do try my hardest to stay in touch with my lovely brides. So, in May 2014 I was speaking with my lovely friend, Chrissie Nicholson-Wild who makes the most beautiful wedding dresses about us doing a photo shoot together so that we could both gain some content for our websites. We invited along photographer and friend David Long of Exposure Studios London if he would like to take these photos for us and we set a budget. I must admit, it did take us a while to find the perfect location and after short listing 4 locations, I came across Amberley castle which we all agreed was the perfect wedding location for us. Due to our busy lives we set...
